Prison for 340 prisoners with supervision is situated above five level crossing of 105 an 110 in Los Angeles. The building land is connected to local ways. The main secured entrance and parking is underground.

Idea

The prison is placed above important communications so its very well visible and except its main function it acts as prevention element also. Over the heads of all drivers acts as sort of risen finger, sort of head on post (way of warning and prevention against crime in the Middle Ages). Prison functions like imaginary filter walking above the city and sucks in dirt, filters and leaks it all clear back to the city. Thanks to this inplantation prison uses the wasteland round the huge crossing.

Function

The underground storey handling parking and main entrance through protection system of porter’s lodge. The main circulation goes in the central leg containing 3 elevators and main staircase. This leg goes through whole building. Next 3 legs handling supply and evacuative functions. Below constructional super storey the working floor, dining hall storey, kitchen and main store and aircondiction technique is situated. The rooms for sport activities, cells floors and independent tower is situated above the super storey. This tower is designed for working staff and for supervisors and is connected with the cells floors by foot bridges. It is one side transparent and reflects the light into the building interier. In highest levels we situated the administrative part of building, flats for stuff and garden.
